En annan sida av skapandet; förstörelsen 
Det är mycket av skapandeprocessen som inte syns utåt. Alla idéer som fortfarande formas och som en fortfarande kämpar med att materialisera, alla tekniker som testas, alla kladdpapper och allt som faktiskt aldrig blir mer än ett steg på vägen mot något annat. Det må låta dramatiskt, men den där högen för mig har jag alltid bränt upp. Så också i år.

I flödet av nya idéer känns det gamla plötsligt trångt, och då är det dags att släppa taget. Likaså är det så befriande att få släppa taget om det där som inte blev som det var tänkt, eller som vägrar leva upp till ens förväntningar. Högen med gamla tankar, känslor och misslyckanden skapas varje år. Allt det där är lärdomar, men vi behöver inte släpa runt på dem. Bränn upp, och börja om. Gör plats för något nytt.

Another side of creation; destruction

There is much of the creative process that is not visible to the outside world. All the ideas that are still being formed and that one is still struggling to materialize, all the techniques that are being tested, all the scraps of paper and everything that never actually becomes more than a step on the path to something else. It may sound dramatic, but I have always burned that pile. And so I did this year.

In the flow of new ideas, the old suddenly feels narrow, and that means it is time to let go. In the same way, it is so liberating to let go of what did not turn out as planned, or which refuses to live up to one’s expectations. The pile of old thoughts, feelings and failures is built every year. Those are all lessons, but we do not need to drag them around. Burn them, and start over. Make space for new things to come.
